La Maison de Amelie had been the hidden dream, of a very strict English teacher, for many years. Shari once taught Shakespeare, but secretly, she also wished to provide the indulgences of a salon and spa to the women around her in a manner that would be blissful. She had an epiphany during the dark times of Covid, and thus acted, with the assistance of her partner, and created what had been her secret ambition – opening her very own salon. It was a beautiful, relaxing, and hygienic setting, with staff that cumulatively, had over a century of experience. La Maison de Amelie embodies so many aspects of her life – including its namesake, her daughter, and the incorporation of her Caribbean roots into different aspects in this beautiful sanctuary for women. She invites all women to come, escape their daily lives, be pampered, forget – if just for a moment, all the hats they are compelled to wear, and in that moment care for their mind, body and soul.
